The City Council approved Monitor Point on June 25: roughly 1,324 apartments at 40–56 Quay St, 662 of them (50%) permanently affordable, plus over an acre of new waterfront open space, a new home for the Greenpoint Monitor Museum, $300K a year for Bushwick Inlet Park maintenance, and two MTA facilities relocated out of the area. Save the Inlet's petition against building on land promised as parkland in the 2005 rezoning drew more than 5,000 signatures.
